The action of Apex Construct takes place in a fractured futuristic world that has been created in impressive detail with plenty of imaginative touches thrown into the mix. Players are presented with a number of intriguing puzzles to solve, which help to break up the battle scenes while also adding a touch of intrigue to the drama. There is also a selection of cool weapons to choose from, although getting them to act as intended can be a bit tricky.

Despite the fact that Apex Construct is ultimately a story driven game, players who make it through to the end are likely to discover that the story actually doesn’t go anywhere, which can be a bit disappointing for those who have gone the distance.
